Eventually it has to become a great game. It is not the first time I have been ranting about Nintendo or technology in general (I guess it is sane to do so). I guess I have to see what the final products looks like. I guess we all expect new things from Nintendo (at least they managed to make A Link Between Worlds feel diverse and unique for a change, which is really great).

Just jumping on Goombas and running around Bob-Omb Battlefield and be amazed of the size of the world. I miss the days when simplicity was everything. Which brings the question, why bother creating the human-world structure at all? If Mario wants to be desperately an open-world game it needs to act like one. I am talking voice acting, quests, NPC reactions, interiors of buildings and everything else that Open-World games do these days. Does Mario really need that? Mario is great as it is, but when Mario wants to compare itself with Open-World games, it will need to do a lot more than just jumping around in the human world. But the section with that New York City-like hub. Even Super Mario Sunshine is quite good (not as good as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy Through).īut when I look at Super Mario Odyssey. Titles such as Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy 1/2, Super Mario 3D Land/World, Mario & Luigi, Mario Kart are all on my list of favorite games. Best hype of 2017.Īs for Super Mario Odyssey. We can all agree that Breath of the Wild will be amazing. Anyone else wish Nintendo had just made Super Mario Galaxy 3? Will Odyssey will be a good game? Is it to early to feel disappointed that this will be the game that introduces a new generation of kids to the Mario series?

The other stages look more like Super Mario Galaxy 3 and they look exciting. Do you guys think the city will be a big part of the game or maybe it's just for the trailer? It is a big part of the trailer, kinda reminds me of the Mario Run trailer. There's been other humans besides Mario in other 3D Mario games, why do these humans look so different? Mario looks out of place. looks so dumb"Īnyone remember Sonic '06? Surely it can't be that bad! I agree with that last comment though. I mean the levels you go to look fine but the real world concept. "Am I the only one who thinks this looks extremely weird and out of place. "I can't get over the fact that in the real world, Mario is only about 2 feet tall" "Ey Luigi, you want to go bowling?" (GTA reference) "This is finally the sequel to Super Mario 64 that everyone wanted." (assumably sarcastic) "the new GTA VI looks good even if personally I don't like the new art style"

"If those are people then wtf is mario?!" "Oh crap it's Mario '06." (Sonic '06 reference) There seems to be unanimous excitement for the new Zelda title but on Odysseys' Youtube trailer page there's quite a lot of criticism. I'm just curious what people here on the Dolphin forums think of the trailer for Super Mario Odyssey.
